A DANSHIKI BALL GOWN

Hi guys!!! How is the weekend going FAM, like I promised in my last post HERE to take a full outfit picture of the gown I wore for my convocation and share with you all. Here I am, fulfilling my promise. So here you have it, a ball gown by Seemah’s Couture (@haleemah_shuaib on IG) and the fabric is from @lavendafabrics on IG.

COLOUR MIXING IS A TALENT

One thing i love playing with is colour. Probably if i grew up in another country  i would have been an artist or something. Colour mixing is not something people love to do because if not done properly, you might end up creating a war zone.

 I took the pictures of this look 2weeks ago and i usually don't have a reason for not posting on the blog. I seriously don't understand my mood lately, one minute i'm this girl ready to take over the world, next seconds i just don't understand what the meaning of "take over" is( if that really make sense) like my zeal to get something done will just go drop from 100 to 0.

Just like any other fashion trend, Leema decided to give this one a trail and I must confess it didn’t really go well with my community, the glances and laughs as I walk pass every one of them was like a mad woman walking down the street. It took the Grace of God and well my experience with my course mates during undergraduate days to walk well, (I mean catwalk well) without falling down.

I have never liked wearing wrappers,maybe because i grew up with a Mother who dressed us more in skirts and shorts but with maturity and the wrapper trend being always there in the African Society i decided to try it....AND I LIKED IT!!!!

I love fashion for one thing..its always changing and the static thing about it, is your clothes of 4 years ago can be restyled to make a BOLD FASHION STATEMENT.Denim on denim was tacky back in the days,accessorizing your outfit with gold and silver jewelleries at the same time was a Fashion Taboo..then mixing patterns together which has proven to be fun and not Trashy like people think it to be. A VISIT TO MY LITTLE MANSION

SKIRTS!I never liked wearing them when i was in school,i always thought it took a lot of planning to wear them but i guess i was wrong...asides it being feminine, it gives off a sophisticated look and there is a skirt for every body type and can be rocked with any foot wear.

CLASSIC VINTAGE VIBES

Hi guys!!! This was an impromptu photo shoot but I totally love the outcome. That very day I got a call from LARA saying REALEST (follow him on IG @realestideas ) was in town and he would love to have a photo shoot with us but he wanted an African inspired one with Ankara and a village location. Hearing ANKARA the first thing that came to my mind was an ANKARA palazzo, I wanted a very big palazzo made with Ankara and a peplum top made with another print of Ankara, the time frame was short I couldn’t make the peplum top and my Tailor (who knows best) decided to make his own version of “very big” palazzo telling me mine version will be too big and people would laugh.
